12 Benefits of Detoxing the Body

12 Benefits of Detoxing the Body

Are detox programs really good for you? There seems to be an equal amount of warnings and recommendations for detoxing, which can make it confusing for the would-be detox dieter. While it is possible to get it wrong, as long as you get it right you’ll be helping yourself in several different ways. We’ve outlined some of the benefits you can expect by following some of the more well-organized detox programs out there.
12 Benefits of Detoxing the Body- great reasons to do a simple detox!
detox boosts energy
1. Boosts Your Energy
Many detox program followers report feeling more energetic. This would make sense because while you’re detoxing you’re stopping the influx of the things that caused you to need a detox in the first place. By cutting out the sugar, caffeine, trans fat, saturated fat, and replacing them with fresh fruits and vegetables, you’ll be getting a natural energy boost, one that comes without a resultant crash. It’s vital to stay well hydrated while on any detox program, and that can also be a source of increased energy if you typically don’t get enough water throughout the day.
2. Rids the Body of Any Excess Waste
The biggest thing that detoxing helps with is allowing the body to rid itself of any excess waste it’s been storing. Most detox programs are designed to stimulate the body to purge itself, helping the liver do its thing as well as the kidneys and colon. Cleansing the colon is an important part of the detoxing process because those toxins need to exit the body, and a backed up colon can cause them to be reintroduced into the body, rather than exiting as planned. Sticking with fruits and vegetables even after the detox program is completed is a good way to keep things moving.

3. Helps with Weight Loss
It’s easy to see how a detox diet would cause you to lose weight in the short term, but a healthier way to look at it would be to establish long-term eating habits, and rid yourself of unhealthy habits. Many times it is the drastic reduction in calories and rapid weight loss that is focused on, especially in the media. But these short-term results won’t last if you don’t make it a point to replace bad foods with good, and use your newfound energy to exercise more and be more active overall.
4. Stronger Immune System
When you detox the body you free up your organs to function the way they should. This helps to give your immune system a boost since you’ll be able to absorb nutrients better, including Vitamin C. Many of the herbs you take while on a detox will help the lymphatic system, which plays a big role in keeping you healthy and firing on all cylinders. Many detox programs also focus on light exercises which help to circulate lymph fluid through the body and helps it to drain, strengthening your immune system in the process.
skin benefits of detoxing
5. Improved Skin
Your skin is your largest organ, so it only makes sense that it would show positive results from a detox program. One way to help your detoxing efforts is to take a sauna to help the body sweat out additional toxins. You can expect clearer, smoother skin at the end of your detox plan. It’s also been reported that detoxing can help with acne, although the condition may worsen before it gets better as the toxins are released. You may find that your skin itches or gets patchy before clearing up, but this is part of the process and is a sign that you’re on the right track with your program.
6. Better Breath
Follow a detox program that includes a colon cleanse because those toxins need to be released from the body. It’s been theorized that one contributor to bad breath is a backed up colon. When you are able to clear it out and get your digestive system functioning well again, you may find that your breath improves. Be aware that your breath may actually worsen during the detoxing process, but when it’s finished it will be better. This is natural, and occurs as toxins are released from the body.
7. Promotes Healthy Changes
It’s hard to change a long-standing habit, and a detox program – no matter how long – is one way to put a wedge between your old ways and your new ones. If you have addictions to sugar, caffeine, fried, or crunchy foods you can use a detox program to help you kill those cravings. Often if you just try to quit eating those foods or drinking those beverages you’ll have limited success, and go back to your old ways. But if you cleanse the body and replace those foods with healthier choices, you can retrain yourself and be more likely to stick to your new habits.
8. Clearer Thinking
A good detox program will pay some attention to your state of mind during the cleanse. The use of meditation is often recommended as a way to get back in touch with your body during this time of purging and cleansing of toxins. Detox followers often say that they lose that sense of fogginess, and are able to think more clearly during a detox than when not on it. It makes sense, since many of the sugar-filled and fat-filled foods that surround us each day will cause us to feel lethargic and can factor heavily in the quality of our thinking.
healthier hair
9. Healthier Hair
By the time you can see your hair, it’s already considered dead, as all of its growth occurs within the hair follicle. This is why it’s important to keep your body functioning at its full potential through a regular detoxing strategy. When your hair is able to grow uninhibited by internal toxins you’ll see and feel the difference in your hair. In many instances hair gets shinier, and feels softer to the touch. Detoxing isn’t enough to stop male pattern baldness, but many report that their hair grows more quickly, a sign of healthier hair.

Studies Show That Vitamins Can Tame Your Unruly Child in School Allowing Them to Learn More and Excel in Their Work

Could unruly children be tamed with a vitamin pill? Pupils taking the supplement were 'better behaved at school'

  • Study gave schoolchildren a vitamin, mineral and omega-3 supplement
  • Behaviour improved over 12 weeks compared to those taking placebo
  • Especially unruly children had fewer classroom outbursts in this time
  • Experts say supplements improve brain health and antisocial behavior
Schoolchildren given a supplement containing a mix of vitamins, minerals and omega-3 for 12 weeks were better behaved at school, researchers found.
Experts say the findings add to a body of evidence showing deficiencies in young people's diets can contribute towards poor brain health and antisocial behaviour.
Omega-3 is known to be vital for healthy brain function, and past studies have shown it can improve discipline and reduce the symptoms of ADHD.

One trial, published in the Journal of Attention Disorders, found a combination of omega-3 and omega-6 could be almost as effective as the drug Ritalin at controlling ADHD symptoms in teenagers.
Omega-3 is found in oily fish such as mackerel, salmon and sardines - but experts worry children who eat a diet high in sugar and fat may be deficient.

Professor John Stein, of the University of Oxford, who led the new research, said improving students' diets with supplements in turn improves their behavior.
'When assessed using validated tests, supplements may protect against worsening behaviour.'
Dr Jonathan Tammam, the principal researcher on the study, told MailOnline the results were significant but that parents should initially try to improve their children's levels of vitamins, minerals and omega-3 through changing their diet.
Only if this fails should they turn to supplements.
He said: 'When we looked at the children's diets a third was made up of foods high in sugar and fat, like crisps and sweets. Their diet was poor.
'Improving this, flipping their diet so a third came from fruits and vegetables, and eating more oily fish, would raise nutrient levels and protect against bad behaviour.'
Brain function: Experts said the research adds to the growing body of evidence that nutrition can impact the brain health and behaviour of children

As part of the study, 196 healthy children aged 13 to 16 were recruited from Robert Clack, a mixed comprehensive school in Dagenham, east London.
They were split into two groups - one was given a 'WellTeen' supplement while the other was given a placebo.
Nutrient deficiencies have been implicated in antisocial behaviour, hence correcting them may improve sociability
Professor John Stein, University of Oxford
Researchers took blood samples from the pupils to measure the change in vitamin, mineral and omega-3 levels during the study.
These were found to be low at the start of the study but were significantly raised in the group receiving the nutrient supplements over the 12 weeks.
The children's behaviour was assessed using the Conner’s scale, a validated measure of discipline and emotional problems.
Using this scale, the team found the behaviour of students receiving the supplements improved, while the behaviour of the pupils receiving the placebo worsened.
When they looked at the children's school records, they found throughout the school term the number of occasions where teachers reported lateness, classroom outbursts, rudeness or any other form of rule-breaking increased for both groups.
Dr Tammam said: 'This is to be expected. Children start the term bright eyed and bushy tailed. Then, as time goes on, they get tired and fractious.'
Then, they looked at results only for the most badly behaved children, who had committed at least three or more misdemeanors in the 12 weeks of the study.

From Overweight To Super-Ripped: Obese Social Worker Reveals How He Got The Body of His Dreams in Just WEEKS

Obese social worker reveals how he got the body of his dreams in just 12 WEEKS
  • Patrick Magno joined the BodyBuilding.Com 250k transformation challenge
  • Followed a gruelling workout regime to get ripped in three months
  • 5ft 5in Patrick lost 49lb; went from 180.6lb (12st 9lb) down to 134lb (9st 6lb)
  • His body fat dropped from 30% to just 6% and he is now a personal trainer
An obese social worker reveals how he transformed his physique - and his life - in just 12 weeks to become a ripped bodybuilder.
After gaining weight until he was 30 per cent body fat, Patrick Magno, from San Diego, California, was unhappy with his appearance.
But after a health scare, when the doctor told him that he was at risk of developing diabetes, the 29-year-old was shocked into changing his life and losing an incredible 49lb in just three months.

Patrick weighed in at 180.6lbs (12st 9lb), making him technically obese, when tests revealed that he had high blood sugar levels and was at risk of developing type 2 diabetes which ran in his family.
He saw his father deal with the symptoms of diabetes, and he was determined he would not succumb to the same fate.
Meanwhile he felt stuck in his job which involved him having to remove children from broken homes, abusive parents and other harmful situations, which was emotionally draining.
Two weeks after his doctor's warning, feeling 'burnt out and unhappy' Patrick finished his last day of work and proposed to his girlfriend of six years at a family reunion.
He was ready to start the next chapter in life, saying: 'I had to do better for my fiancé.'
He admits that much of the spur to change was his own appearance. 'I couldn't even recognise myself,' he said. 'I was embarrassed. I was disgusted. I was ashamed that I had let myself get to this point.'

Patrick didn't like how he looked in the mirror before he began his transformation

But soon after he proposed, Patrick heard about Bodybuilding.com'sk Challenge.
The transformation contest sees entrants transform their figures with supplements, meal plans and workouts, and the contestant with the most jaw-dropping makeover is awarded with a substantial prize.
He said: 'I heard about the transformation challenge and, to be honest, at first I was sceptical of what the site claimed to offer.
'They said they would give tons of nutritional meal plans, options, workout guides and fitness advice absolutely free of charge, and offer a $250,000 (£190,000) in prize money. It sounded a little too good to be true.'
By week three Patrick was already shaping up thanks to doing the Kris Gethin workouts and dieting
His back was already taking shape

Week 5 front view: 'Tired, sore, alive, motivated, determined. The more results I see, the harder I push. The harder I push, the better I become'
'I felt like quitting before I even started but just seeing this much progress alone has made me feel like a winner'
Week five: Patrick said he was tired but motivated by how much is body had changed in just over a month
Yet he signed on and also used the Bodyspace app and the Kris Gethin 12-week muscle-building guide.
He overhauled his diet, swapping junk food for healthy fats, fruit and some dairy - including tuna, brown rice, eggs and skinless chicken.
He was also advised to eat more - building his calorie intake by up to 200 every week to help gain muscle.
For the training, Patrick built up bulk by weightlifting with an intensive daily programme.
'After really dedicating my time to learn how to effectively lose weight, I finally started to see results.
'I spent hours during the challenge, researching articles on the website day in and day out and absorbing it all like a sponge,' he said.
'I had no idea what my body was capable of. All I needed were the right tools.'
He also adjusted his diet, increasing his protein intake and recalculating it down to the gram as he shed fat and built muscle.
By week five, almost halfway, Patrick says he was feeling: 'Tired, sore, alive, motivated, determined. The more results I saw, the harder I pushed. The harder I pushed, the better I became.'

And his determination was rewarded when he was crowned the 2016 Bodybuilding.com male 250k transformation winner.
He is now carrying 24 per cent less body fat, has lowered his risk of diabetes significantly, and has bagged $100,000 of prize money.
He said: 'I've been able to lift a lot heavier in the gym and my nutrition has been on track so far.
'I remember feeling miserable when I took my "before" photos. My belly was hanging over my pants. It didn't help that I had been eating and drinking way more than necessary.
Patrick stuck to the meal plan formula and the Kris Gethin 12 week workout plan and made incredible changes

'I felt like quitting before I even started but just seeing this much progress alone has made me feel like a winner.
'Getting my health back is the ultimate prize.'
He also says he was driven by a desire to provide for his loved-ones. 'In order to understand my transformation you must understand my motivation,' he said.
'As men, we want to protect our family and have the financial stability to treat your fiancée or wife occasionally.'
But going after that goal involved dramatically rearranging his lifestyle.
Patrick is now unrecognisable without an ounce of fat on his frame - he also has a budding new career as a personal trainer helping others do the same

'When you want something that bad, You'll sacrifice hours of sleep, force yourself to overcome bad habits and temptations, turn down outings with friends, all so you can achieve your goal,' he said.
He says: 'Looking back, I was lost and in a very dark place and right now, I am the happiest I have ever been. I accomplished something I never thought possible.
'I'm very thankful for the struggles I went through because I was able to overcome so much - physically and mentally - than I ever imagined.
'I am now pursuing a career as a personal trainer so I can help others who are dealing with similar situations.'

Beyonce Reveals The Diet That Keeps Her Sexy !! Watch Video!

Beyonce, who at this point is more brand than person, did something very un-Bey-like on Monday. She flubbed. She messed up. She made a mistake, people! Maybe even the first mistake she's made since wearing this outfit.
Beyonce teased that she had a "big announcement" to make on Good Morning America. But was it a new album? A tour? Another bun in her (or a surrogate's) oven? Based on this dramatic promo, it had to be something big. Huge even!

But no. It wasn't anything exciting. It wasn't anything, really. Beyonce made her Beyhive wake up at the ungodly hour of 8/7c in the morning to discuss her vegan diet - the same vegan diet she announced months ago. Oh, and Queen Bey couldn't even be bothered to grace the GMA studio with her presence. Talk about phoning it in.
watch video below....

Needless to say, the Beyhive isn't too thrilled with all this. Some fans even began flooding Beyonce's Instagram comments with non-vegan emoji.

Kill Bacteria and Germs with This Easy Chinese Remedy

0
The bottom of your feet are powerful and direct access points to internal organs in your body through what is known as meridians in Chinese medicine.  These meridians are pathways to each organ with your body. Some people say that meridians do not exist within the body or at the bottom of the feet. For those that understand Chinese medicine you may know that the meridian system is very closely correlated with the nervous system.

If you believe you have nerves and a nervous system, you believe you have meridians too, it’s basically the same thing when you interpret it and look at where the meridians are within the body.
The bottom of the feet have many different nerve endings, approximately 7,000 (basically meridians) that directly link to different organs within the body.

They are very powerful electrical circuits within the body and are often dormant because we wear shoes and don’t get accupuncture done to help the meridians or nerves in any way. This is why I recommend walking outside barefoot! To stimulate those meridians on the bottom of your feet as well as to ground yourself with the earth’s negative ion field.

One of the coolest ways to open up these electrical pathways (meridians) and to help purify your internal organs without doing anything internal (diet related) is to cut up onions or garlic and put them in your socks (at the bottom part of your feet) while sleeping.

Onions and garlic are known air purifiers and when applied to the skin topically they kill germs and bacteria but also the phosphoric acid (the substance from onions that makes you cry when you cut them open) enters the bloodstream it helps to purify the blood and kill any bacteria or germs that may be festering waiting to give you the flu.
Some people go so far as to say to never reuse an onion because it will collect germs and bacteria and then you’re eating that. I am not sure if this is true or not because it’s a percentage of people that say it is, and some that say it isn’t! What I do know though is that the onions do age (oxidize, age from oxygen) on the layer that’s cut open and eating oxidized food isn’t the freshest and healthiest form of that food, so cutting that layer off before you eat the onion may be smart to avoid eating germ or bacteria infested layer of onion.

So it’s fairly simple, here are the two steps to purify your blood, and kill germs and bacteria.

Step 1: Cut Up Organic Onions Into Slices (White or Red Onions)

You’ll want to use organic onions because they will be free of pesticides and other chemicals you don’t want sitting on your feet and entering your bloodstream all night. You’ll just want to cut the onions into flat slices so that they can be applied to the bottom of your entire foot (like a platform) so the bottom of your feet are immersed with onion while you sleep.

Step 2: Put The Onions In Your Sock Under Your Foot (on the bottom) And Sleep!

As you sleep the natural healing powers of the onion will go to work through your skin (trans-dermal application) purifying your blood and killing bacteria and germs as well as absorbing toxins! It will also help to purify the air in your room.

You’ll benefit from the air purifying effects as well! In England, during plagues they would chop up onions and leave them in the room to purify the air and to help them not be susceptible to infections, the flu or anything that may harm them.

As you can see here in the picture below the organs and systems within the body and their meridian connection points in the foot.

Here are the benefits of cutting up an onion and putting it in your sock (at the bottom) while you sleep…

1. Purify your blood: Phosphoric acid from the onions as it’s applied and absorbed through trans-dermal means purifies the blood.

2. Kills bacteria, germs and pathogens: Onions (and garlic) have strong anti-bacterial and anti-viral benefits!

3. Purify the air: This little chamber of smelly onion around your feet will purify the air and keep your feet smelling better and free of toxins and chemicals pulling them out of your feet while you sleep.

If you found this information cool, useful or valuable please hit share and let your friends on facebook benefit from this as well!
